A variety of hymn festivals are offered on this site. A brief description of each service is included below the title and PDF link.
This hymn festival, Liberated by God’s Grace, was commissioned by Bishop Larry Kochendorfer for use at the 2016 Synod Convention We give thanks to the hymn festival planning team of Dr. Joy Berg; Diaconal Minister, Dr. Faith Nostbakken; and The Rev. Ann Salmon for all their work and preparation.
The hymn that frames the hymn festival was written for the 2016 Synod Convention. We give thanks to God for the talents of Neil Querengesser, the writer of the text; and Joy Berg, the composer of the tune. The rest of the festival hymns are from Evangelical Lutheran Worship and we also give thanks for the men and women who wrote and composed the texts and tunes of these hymns.
The spoken reflections are written by people from all over our synod. They are true stories of despair and joy. Each, in its own way, is a story of grace. We give thanks to those who wrote these stories and agreed to have them published, anonymously, in this hymn festival.
